Ann Alexander has been selected as this year's William D. Barth Award honoree! Ann, along with her late husband Tom Alexander, has had a particularly impactful history in Kane County. Being the driving force behind the development of the crisis stabilization unit at Mercy Hospital in Aurora and activity on many, many local boards and initiatives over the years cemented Ann's legacy as a mental health advocate within the community. Ann continues to be an inspiration and natural mentor to many--most especially to the young people at her church, Congregational Church of Batavia.
The William D. Barth Award was established in 1985 and recognizes one individual each year who has made a significant and positive impact, through community service, on the Central Kane County area. Sponsored by TriCity Family Services, the distinction honors the memory of William D. Barth, a founder of TriCity Family Services and dedicated community leader.
Historically, the award is given to someone whose belief in the community and concern for those living here is shown by an ongoing involvement in community life. The recipient will have worked for the community by participating in activities affecting the quality of life in the Tri-Cities. These include civic, service, charitable, educational, cultural, youth and recreational organizations, as well as church and government.
The 2023 William D. Barth Award will be presented to Ann Alexander at the TriCity Family Services Barth Award Dinner on Wednesday, October 18, from 5 to 8pm, at Riverside Receptions in Geneva. Please join in honoring Ann for her work and dedication at our 39th Annual William D. Barth Award Dinner.
The event features a complimentary buffet dinner and cash bar. There is no cost to attend but donations are appreciated. Please RSVP to Mary Kay Dowling by October 10th if you plan to attend: mkdowling@tricityfamilyservices.org or (630) 232-1070.
